pushchairs/prams not welcome

Has anyone else had this experience? We were thrown out of a cafe in Ikley last weekend because we had a pushchair. Our son is only 4 months. We were told he would have to sit in a highchair (I'm not sure how that takes up less space as funnily enough our buggy doesn't conveniently fold to pocket size). We had ordered food and I was just about to feed my baby. I am outraged!

That is absoloutely disgraceful! I live very close to Ilkley, have never had anything like this. You must name and shame them so i know not to visit.

Yes, I'd like to know too, as my mum lives in Ilkley and we have a 4 month old. I know my stepsister who lives in Otley and has a 5 1/2 month old meets up with various baby groups in Ilkley regularly too.

yes definatly agree with you. we were not allowedin a fish n chip restaurant in scarborough because we had a double buggy ( inline phil n teds )they said we would have 2 leave it outside. although my children at the time were only 15 mnths and 1 mnth. i cudnt understand it because their was only 1 other couple in the place. we ended up eating our fish n chips in the car. i was peeved !
