Ashtead - opinions please!

We’re looking to move out of SW London for more space and found Ashtead which looks nice. We have 2 young kids so nice (state) schools are important I’d love to hear people’s views on the nicer areas (and not so nice) as well as whether it’s friendly / has a good community feel? Any other hints or tips appreciated.

Hi @Firsttimer16, I just stumbled across this thread as I'm looking to buy in Ashtead - I might start a new thread for others' thoughts, but just wondering whether you ended up buying there in the end and if so, how you are finding it!

Hi @Lowkeyloopy! No we didn't end up buying there unfortunately. We were very close and had a house under offer but it all fell through during lockdown last year and we ended up in hampshire instead, which we love and is much closer to our family - so worked out well for us, but that was nothing against Ashtead, just the way things worked out!
