Catchment placing request high school

I wondered if anyone had ever faced a situation where an Edinburgh high school was over subscribed and not all catchment children were offered places?

I have had to submit a placing request for a catchment high school to change from RC to ND, and I’m concerned the school is going to be oversubscribed. Anyone have any experience with this. Thanks

interesting, what if there is an over subscribed school that child is allocated and is a catchment school, but tries to choose a non catchment school which is also oversubscribed? will the child lose both schools?
