Hi we are a very active friendly couple in our 60s not yet retired and have been renting in South Manchester for 9 years. When I retire next October, we really want to move to the Northwich area having fell in love with it whilst driving there every week for my husbands small job on the radio.
However, we will be taking a bit of a hit to our income once I retire and I am wondering if we can be creative in swapping assets I.e helping with :-childcare/babysitting/shopping/cleaning/ school runs/companionship/dog walking/ pet sitting etc in return for some cheaper accommodation in Northwich and surrounding areas. We don’t mind what we live in (within reason) it’s more about a pleasant location, as it’s an adventure. Maybe you have a granny annexe, caravan etc or own property in the area.
I have worked in the public sector in education and social care with children and families for 23 years and been in my current post for almost ten years and can provide excellent references. My husband does a lot of dog walking and is happy to help with your animals and can also provide references and am currently DBS checked. We also respect other people’s property.
Would be happy to discuss a small income instead to supplement the pension. I’m just putting the feelers out really.
We have five grandchildren and would love to help out parents who don’t have the luxury of grandparents.
