Private School Assessments and Offer Letters

I have applied for GW, EA and ESMS for DS for S1. I am more nervous than he is! He was rejected from ESMS last year (tried hard but not at right level) but we have since found out he is dyslexic. Hoping with extra support we have been providing since diagnosis he will be ok this time around. Couple of questions - has anyone been in a similar situation and successfully managed to get place on second attempt? Also, do offer letters include contract as well?

Thanks!

I don’t have any answers, but I have been experiencing the anxiety of getting a pace for my daughter! Its awful waiting! We got a letter this week- places all gone, but she is on the waiting list. So now more waiting. When do you find out?

If you are on the waiting list pick up the phone and let them know how keen you are and if offered a place would accept. I did this and it worked for me, lovely year head bumped me up the list and a short while later all sorted. Good luck.

Thanks for that. It’s a bit more complicated as we are depending on the offer of a bursary. I called the other day- I got the impression from the call that there would be less bursary money available to someone in our position (being on the waiting list and then offered a place) as the top choices would be given most of, if not all the funding leaving not much left in the pot. We are ok about it though as we like the school she as at, so not like it’s essential this year. I am going to just keep waiting to see what happens. OP hope things are ok for you.
