End to end childcare in Oxford

Hi all,

I am considering primary school options for my twins. I live in East Oxford and was not very impressed by my local school when I visited (SSMJ), despite local parents being happy with it. It's been suggested I send them there for KS1 and then reconsider but feeling very unsure.... Anyway.

Considering Manor prep in Abingdon but trying to figure out childcare arrangements. I work in London 3d/wk and my wife works shifts so can't be relied on for childcare.

Can't afford a nanny and private school. I need reliable cover for a couple of hours before and after school for 3 days a week starting at 7am.
Any advice? How do others do it?

First world problems I know but feeling a little overwhelmed!

Tia

A childminder who could do pick-up & drop offs?

You could drive them yourself - commuting to London from Abingdon adds only additional 40 mins to your commute compared to Oxford.

Do they exist? That would come to my house? We both leave at 7 so I can't see us getting the children anywhere by then!

GrumpyHoonMain - I think that would make me too late into London. Doable in emergencies but not regularly.

No, you’d probably need to take them to the childminder’s house.

Sounds like you need a nanny and maybe state school for primary then
