Caterpillars nursery in Carshalton

Hi,

We're looking at sending our little one to Caterpillars day nursery in Carshalton, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them?

We are thinking of sending them there or to Bright Horizons in Carshalton but there's a £400 a month price difference between them.

We discounted Bright Horizons as it's right on the main road and we didn't want DS inhaling the fumes. Caterpillars seemed to have a crazy waiting list with people signing up when they're 3 months pregnant and they don't offer half days so didn't suit us. Do you need to drop off and get to the station?

We went with Busy Bees in Carshalton Beeches but most friends seem to be using childminders.

I agree, the road bright horizons does put us off. Caterpillars is at a much nicer location.

We don't need a space till November 2020 so we're hoping we still have time to reserve a spot. So grateful someone told me that places can get booked up 1year in advance! I don't think we would of started looking if we weren't told.

I'll need to drop off/pick up and go to the station so that's why Caterpillars and bright horizons are better for us. Busy bees looks really good, but I think the 30min walk there and then 20mins to the station will make 8am drop/6pm pick up a lot harder. I think we can just do those times if it's closer to station.

Are your friends happy with their Childminders?

Yes, Busy Bees is tricky for commuters.

My friends have all started with childminders only a few weeks ago and no one is complaining so far. I think they generally tended to meet several to find the one they liked the look of.
