Childcare costs in Lewisham borough?

Hello,
(Is this group dead, or am in the wrong place?)

Anyway, as a currently childfree couple, we're trying to get a handle on what childcare might cost. We live in Brockley SE4. Does anyone mind sharing what they per month, for full time care for a baby?
I'd like to go back to work after a year max. Not very clued up on the types, the pitfalls/ pros and what it might cost.

Thanks :)
Ally

I pay just under £500 a month for 2 days at a nursery in New Cross in the baby room (under 2s). So £1250 for full time? If you qualify for tax free childcare, then you only pay 80% of that as HMRC top it up.

Everyone I know has gone back from mat leave 3-4 days per week, either part time or compressed hours, to reduce the amount of paid for childcare.

Hope that helps.
