Hi there. I'm looking for some advice on alternative P7 and secondary education to that of the normal state schooling. My daughter has difficulty learning and retaining information in normal school subjects but is remarkably astute and clever in other non school subjects. She lags behind her peers and is not getting the support she needs at Primary Level, let alone what she will need going forward at secondary level.
I'm at my wits ends trying to get my local authority to test my daughter to find out what is wrong and possible cognitive exercises to improve her problems. Ideally I'm looking now to pay for this myself and to secure a different type of education establishment that might suit her more - smaller Secondary School or Private Schools or a different approach even.
Does anyone have any advice they could give me?
