Hi, my first time on here so not sure if anyone can help. Im 7 months pregnant and staying on a relatives sofa, i have signed up to property pool plus and i am in band A. I have bidded for a house which i am so desperate for, im in 8th position which i know means 7 are before me but i was wondering how it works. Do they just put you in that position due to your band then you will be 8th to be offered the property or do they look into it a bit further when bidding closes and maybe filter it further. Sorry i know 8 is a low chance i just really love the property and i am so desperate right now. Thanks for any help

I think that unfortunately, as long as you're in your Aunt's house you will remain low on the list.

You would in theory be 8th to be offered the property but with that many people in front of you, the chances are low to impossible

One of them will take it because to be 1st or 2nd on the list, you have to be literally homeless....in a hostel or on the street.

Even though you're on a sofa, they see you as low priority because you're in a safe place with family.

Thanks for your reply, I am in band A which is a priority. This particular home they require you to have full time employment to apply for it also. My friend was number one on a list and she was counted as overcrowded not homeless, so this is not always the case.

The other 7 must also be in Band A though OP. That's why you don't really have a chance with this particular property. What you should do is find out if it counts how long you've BEEN in Band A...for example.

Ask them if the amount of time you've waited pushes you up past other Band A applicants who also bid. Some councils will prioritise the Band As who have waited longest whilst others take circumstances into consideration.

You’ll bump up the list when the baby is actually here.
