Morningside parking, help!

So, after years of wanting to go, this year we decided to celebrate big birthdays by booking a trip to the Edinburgh festival. Booked a lovely place through Airbnb with parking, that cancelled on me yesterday (we are arriving Thursday!) so I’m majorly stressed out.
Anyway, I’ve managed to book somewhere else on Morningside road but it has no parking (thought I’d better book it and worry about parking later!) now I’m stumped. I’ve been googling away, but there don’t seem to be any reasonable priced decent sized car parks within walking distance. Have checked all the “rent out my drive” type places, all ridiculously expensive.
Can anyone suggest somewhere? Free street parking, pay and display, whatever! Don’t really want to pay more than £50 for three days.

there is a free carpark on tipperlinn road (around a 5 minute walk from morningside road)

Thank you, I did see that one on a map but it said it only had ten spaces. Any idea if it's a popular one with the commuters?

oh i haven't been there in a while...have you looked here? its £32 for 3 days worth of parking in a safe place and a 15 minute walk to morningside road

There will be a point as you drive down Morningside Road (heading out of town) that the on street parking becomes free. The roads leading off Morningside Station junction (at the Bank of Scotland) were free back in the day, Balcarres Street always used to have spaces further along towards the Craighouse end.

The Council parking website shows anything south of the Morningside Station junction appears to be free onstreet parking.
