Ikley or Leeds

Hi - we're (me, hubbie, 3 year old daughter) are moving to North Yorkshire for work. Husband will be based in central Leeds and I will be looking for new work.

We had initially decided on Ilkley, but are starting to think maybe somewhere within Leeds would be easier. What are people's thoughts on Ilkley vs Roundhay in Leeds? Priority being good schools and safety for the little one.

Many thanks in advance, Karina

Leeds & Ilkley are in West Yorkshire. Roundhay is a leafy suburb and probably as safe as a small town. I’d take the shorter commute personally, eg Roundhay. Be aware that primary school places in that area of North Leeds are oversubscribed.

Eta if you like running/ cycling/outdoor pursuits Ilkley would slightly edge it for me. It is in a beautiful part of the world. Personally I find it a bit staid, but then I live in the Wild West of Leeds Wink
