We are thinking of moving to the Newcastle area from the South East, as my husband comes from Low Fell and his mum and other family are still there. We have an 11 year old son who is about to start year 7 here so will be coming part way through a school year once we did move. Which area would you recommend? We live in a village of about 3,000 at the moment so want to live in a place that still has a village type feel. We are considering Low Fell. Do you recommend any other similar places? Whickham? What are the secondary schools like for this area and is he likely to get into a good one? We don't want to move much further up North than Newcastle as don't want to be even further from my own family in Kent and Leicester.
