Hi
I have volunteered to be Tsarina for Ipswich, anyone else signed up or is it just me?

OP posts:
Milosmummy · 20/08/2007 10:10

Hello is there anyone else out there from Suffolk!

Why are there so few mums from Suffolk on Mumsnet? I live in a lovely village near Sudbury where everyone's very friendly but i'm finding it really hard to meet mums with babies - there's only one other young mum in the village. I moved to Suffolk about 18 months ago so didn't know that many people before I had my son. The friends I met through NCT are really spread out through Suffolk so it's difficult to meet up very often. Does anyone else find it difficult to meet people or is it just me?!!

nicky107 · 21/08/2007 15:02

hi, just joined today. I'm from Ipswich. As you say, there does not appear to be many from suffolk on here.

sarahc123 · 23/08/2007 18:29

I've just joined today, I've got 2 boys aged 5 and 3 and I'm leaving my part time job at the end of September to be a full time Mum. I've a feeling this site may keep me sane!

EllieK · 28/08/2007 00:39

I think it's because the Suffolk Mums on here don't post very often, or like to stay anonymous. I know there are quite a few hidden in the woodwork

EllieK · 28/08/2007 00:39

oh, and I'm Joma by the way, just using my 'other' nickname at the moment!

nicky107 · 28/08/2007 14:02

Well, hi all. Nice to see some more Suffolk Mums out there! Do you have any recommendations for baby groups??

moomsmum · 28/08/2007 21:38

hello, I'm new!

Reading these posts, I am thankful that I had a really good antenatal group first time around and we all meet up every thursday (at least).
Now on my second baby (due in 6 days!) and want to know how many of you have had second ones.
First time I was induced due to preeclampsia so this time is like my first as never found out what it was like to go into natural labour.....

EllieK · 28/08/2007 21:56

I have 2, 2nd time was an entirely different experience!

nicky107 · 29/08/2007 10:57

Hi, was it easier second time? They all say it is. I have a 6 week old...so not really thinking about that yet!

ProfYaffle · 29/08/2007 11:00

Hi JoMa - I'm your Tsarina neighbour, am covering Norfolk/Suffolk border area. I live in Diss, just over the border in Norfolk, but come into Ipswich quite a lot as dh works there. Just back from a short break near Rendham, spent a few days exploring the Suffolk coast and absolutely loved it.

EllieK · 29/08/2007 20:54

hey prof
Joma is me when I'm using my more imaginative name!

ProfYaffle · 30/08/2007 11:13

Ooh, you foxed me! (not difficult I know) How are you LO's? DD2 is currently throwing her guts up, showered me in yellow bile in Morrisons just now I have an afternoon of entertaining a 3 year old and mopping up sick ahead of me

EllieK · 30/08/2007 19:18

oooh yuck

Mine are both good, smallest has perfected the art of sicky dribbling on me just as I head out of the door for work

ProfYaffle · 30/08/2007 22:01

Mmm, yummy. I was reduced to catching the literal flood of sick in a nappy while dd1 capered around shouting 'it's on the floor Mummy!' She seems to be OK now though. Did you ever go to the Start Rite factory shop?

EllieK · 30/08/2007 22:02

not yet, he hasn't needed shoes yet, despite getting taller his feet just don't grow

ProfYaffle · 30/08/2007 22:09

dd1's a bit like that, she actually wears her shoes out rather than grows out of them. I decided to give the whole experience a miss and treat myself to a visit to a regular shoeshop this time round.

EllieK · 30/08/2007 22:14

hmm. not sure I'm brave enough to take both of them there when he next needs shoes, although i guess it's not as busy after the start of term?

need to get my backside to work on time for more than 1 day a week before I attempt anything more challenging

coleyboy · 30/08/2007 22:20

Hi there, I'm a Suffolk mummy.

I have to say there certainly seems to be a shortage of us Suffolkians on MN!

EllieK · 30/08/2007 22:24

I think they're all just hiding behind the hedges!

coleyboy · 30/08/2007 22:31

I think they must be. I didn't realise we were such a shy breed??!!

Did you used to post under EllieKthePA?

EllieK · 30/08/2007 22:42

I did, and more recently I was Joma

thebumcleaner · 01/10/2007 20:52
