Just introducing myself and urging you all to post on Mumsnet local with places to go, activities, groups, anything.

Anything you know of in the area can be of benefit to other local mums.

Hi some really good breastfeeding cafes in the area - Cobridge, Biddulph, Leek and Kidsgrove if you need details please post

islandofsodor · 29/08/2007 16:25

I do have the details somewhere as I used to be a peer supporter but it would be handy to have updates on here.

Hi, just introducing myself... any local mums out there who have time to meet up? i'm feeling so bloody isolated as my partner lives in london!! i'm a 26yr old first time mum to Ellie 8 weeks old.. any advice on how i can get out there and meet some like minded people?

islandofsodor · 21/10/2007 00:06

Congrats on your dd's birth.

Which area roughly are you from? I know the NCT has a Monday morning meet up at Trentham gardens which anyone can turn up to. There may also be groups at your local childrens centre or toddler groups (no-one told me that babies are welcome at toddler groups!!!!!!!).

My children are now at school/nursery but there are lots of ways to meet up with other mums, if only you know where to find them.

sometimes it's hard to walk into a room of people you don't know.

DARCYgirl · 24/10/2007 21:08

hi just to say hello & i hope you dont mind i need to talk & im going to rant here as im so annoyed with my husband ! my daughter is 18 months & is sleeping in our room still ( my husband hasnt got round to putting the curtain pole up in her room in our new house - errr we moved in 6 months ago!) he has taken to sleeping in the spare room as he gets up early & she wakes in the night. It has come to a head tonight as she wouldnt settle & he puts her to bed 2 times out of 7 lets say ( after a year of me breastfeeding her i think its only fair! ) & i just wanted to read etc & chill tonight & then she woke up at 8pm & he took all his time going up to see her &. I sleep in the same room as her & i see to her everynight in the middle of the night when she wakes & i thnink its because i am waking her when i go to bed even though im v quiet . anyway he has gone to bed ina huff & i just feel like a 2nd class citizen whos not allowed the luxury of sleep just beacuse i dont work in the day . Am i being unreasonable ?? sorry again for the rant !

cluelessagain · 24/10/2007 21:28

I know the feeling. our lo goes in her cot to bed at 7.30 and sleeps until about 11.00 . once she's woken up she won't settle again and as his lordship works shifts we started putting her in bed with us so that we all got a good nights sleep. All of a sudden he's decided it's the wrong thing to do and we've got to put her in her cot and make her stay there. I just can't do it. I tried it one night and she was sick every where. so I'm not doing it again!!!!!

DARCYgirl · 24/10/2007 21:53

clueless its tough isnt it?, it makes you resent them though, i can see why couples split in the early years

cluelessagain · 24/10/2007 22:07

sometimes you look at them and hate them and others love them to death

DARCYgirl · 24/10/2007 22:09

yes totally

cluelessagain · 24/10/2007 22:14

he'll be home from work in a few minutes so I'll have to go and chat, last night he came into a crying miserable wreck!

Clare1981 · 07/02/2008 14:16

It seems nobody has posted on here for a while (Oct 2007)! I've just joined mumsnet and feeling like I've missed something - does everyone know something that I don't!
