Commuting to Peterborough from South Cambs

Hi, I'm considering applying for a job in Peterborough. We live in a village to the west of Cambridge, close to the A1198. I know it normally takes me about 40 minutes to drive to Peterborough from home but I've not done it in rush hour.

Does anyone commute into Peterborough and if so, can you tell me how long it takes to do section from the A1 into the centre. If the total commute is going to be much more than an hour I might rethink.

In my (limited) experience of driving to Peterborough at rush hour, it’s absolutely fine traffic wise. However I’m not sure if your exact route - I join the A14 at bar hill which is the worst part of the journey for traffic - the rest of time you’re going against the flow. Peterborough itself is a bit busy at 9am but nothing compared to Cambridge! Hope that helps.

Hi

I go to central-ish Peterborough from the north of Cambridge itself and usually it takes no more than an hour. The A14 is getting better and the A1 is usually a great road. From the exit I would say 20 mins max to central Peterborough unless you're very unlucky. For me it's more like 10 minutes.
