Children activities - help

Dear all,

We just moved to Huntingdon Road (CB3) and we are new to Cambridge.

We are looking for recommendations of places for my children (aged 4 and 6) to do swimming and horse ride lessons in groups, or just one offs horse rides.

Also, can you share ideas of green spaces to take my dog for walking that are walking distance from Huntingdon road? I have found a green field next to Ascension Parish burial ground and Histon Park but nothing else.

Thanks in advance!

Swimming - plenty of pools to choose from. Parkside has flumes, Abbey is no nonsense big & small pools, King's Hedges is tiny & great for learners.

Riding - a little harder & you'll need to travel. College of West Anglia used to offer lessons, but I understand that buikd6ing worknis affecting things.
My DC1 used to ride at the South Cambs Equestrian Centre at Barrington (down the m11 a bit, then head towards Foxton).
Current keen riding teen friend goes to Monach Farm, which is well west of Cambridge.

Swimming lessons at Chesterton Sports centre on Gilbert Road.

I used to ride at Sawston Riding School. I think there's a riding school in Dry Drayton (Springhill?), which might be easier for you, or Monach in Hilton. Can't comment on either of those.

The latest OS map might be a good investment for dog walks.

Lots of green space for dog walking in and around Eddington. Turn left off Huntingdon Road onto Storey's way and there's a path you can take.

You could look at Seals swimming for lessons www.sealsswimming.co.uk/
