Warwickshire Vision Support (the Association for the Blind) are seeking volunteers in the Bidford-on-Avon, Alcester, Studley and Henley-in-Arden areas. They are setting up a new Home Visitor Service for vulnerable visually impaired people. If you could donate one and a half hours occasionally then you would be able to visit a visually impaired person in their home, offer them company and conversation and help them with their mail and check the contents of their food cupboards to ensure everything is still in date. You would be creating a highlight within their week, something they can look forward to. Volunteering is rewarding and Warwickshire Vision Support would give you training in sight loss awareness and safeguarding. You may be looking for an opportunity to connect with an organisation with a view to getting back into work, or you know someone who is visually impaired and already recognise the challenges which they face on a daily basis. The Home Visitor Service operates during the day so is flexible and will fit in with school runs. Warwickshire Vision would love to hear from you. Please call 01926411331 for more details.
