Private or NHS in N Ireland??

Hi all - I'm just looking for a bit of opinion on whether private ante natal care is worth the money in N Ireland? This is my first pregnancy and I'm 34. I'll be going to Ulster Hospital. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Big family so we have had kids all over the place - I had DD in the Mater and the care was 2nd to none. Dsis had her DD in the Ulster and thought they were great.
Friend had her DS in the Royal and it was a bit like a cattle market, however my DSil also had her DS in the Royal and there were complications and the care was amazing.

IMO it all depends - if your pregnancy and birth are straightforward, then they just want you in and out, but when there are problems the Midwives and Doctors can't be faulted.

So no - I personally wouldn't pay for private.

HTH.
