Buying in Lancaster

DH and I are first time buyers and looking at the area of Lancaster - does anyone have any ideas for good areas?? We've been warned off skirton but am not sure why?

Any tips for moving into the area appreciated. DH went here for uni but not lived there since 😊

What are you looking for? Skerton and Ryelands probably the areas of most deprivation in Lancaster, but a range of properties on the edges of the areas would be fine. Good community feel in lots of places - Freehold and Fairfield for example.
