Whilst DS sits through Stinky Pingu one more time I'll take the opportunity to introduce myself... I'm a stay-at-home mum and a Hackney resident for about 8 years. Looking forward to getting to know y'all.

I'm an occasional Mnetter, usually very active when all is going to hell....have found it very useful at times! We are just embarking on toilet training DD who is 2 on the 29th. Have lived in Clapton for 11 years now....time flies!

Hello
Am fairly new to Mnet, so this is all a bit new to me too! Just wanted to say hi to all the local Hackney Laydeez. Am a working mum with a soon to be one year old daughter. I've lived in Hackney for 6 years now. xx

Mum2BenjyElizaNel · 23/07/2007 09:54

hi all,

We've just moved to Clapton E5 and would really like to hear from others in the same area. I've got threee children - a son and 2 daughters, aged 8, 4 and almost 2. And naturally I have a childcare/school dilemma!
Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Alfie72 · 05/08/2007 19:46

Hi Mum2 !!
What exactly is your childcare dilemma ?? There's really great childcare provision in Hackney on offer I understand. My first one hasn't arrived yet but I am already looking at the options.
I am sure the other mums can offer some fine words of wisdom about schools and centres specifically.
I have a couple of links that may help....

Hello everyone

I'm a stay at home mum with an almost two year old daughter. We've been living in Hackney now for 5 years and still love it! There's so many things to do with babies and toddlers and the parks are brilliant. We love music and movement with Corin at the Seebright Centre, Hackney City Farm and the Lido. Has anyone been to the Museum of Childhood lately? Haven't been for a while as last few times have been really disappointed - things not working, no toys in the soft play area and the overpriced food in the cafe! And I so want to like it, could be a good place to go especially now winter is approaching.

What does everyone else get up to?

mrsmacleod · 04/10/2007 11:54

Hey stargazers!

Hackney Museum is small but great for toddlers as there's a few nice activities there. I also like the kids cafe - That Place On The Corner - on Newington Green, they have a dressing up box, story time, dance classes and craft sessions. Their website is here

Thanks mrs macleod! I was just checking out that place on the corner's website - think we might give the monday morning dance class a try. I'm ashamed to say we haven;t been to the new Hackney Museum yet, will definitely need to check that out too.
