Getting a Nanny

Hi everyone
Can you give me any advice about finding a Nanny for my two children. I live just south of York and I am not really sure how to go about it, what I should expect to pay and anything else you think would be helpful information.
Thanks
Marybgran

Hi, my family and I are looking to relocate from the States to the York area. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good neighborhoods and good schools. Any info on villages outside York would be great too Thanks!!

Hi

It might be worth starting a new thread on this subject - there are a few York-based mumsnetters.

Have you any particular areas in mind - city centre or in the countryside? There are lots of lovely places to live around York depends on your budget and how far you would want to travel to work etc. You should also look into whether the area floods or not as this is a problem in a few areas.

There are a lot of good primary schools.

Hi Marybgran,
I have just come across a great local agency - well they look pretty good from the website and have lots of qualified local nannies on their books. The site is www.firstclassnannies.co.uk. I hope that helps.
