Bromley to Cambridgeshire

Hi All,

We are looking to relocate to Cambridgeshire with our 2 DDs, one who will be starting year 2 come September (2019), and our youngest will be needing a good pre-school until Sept 2020, and then DH will need to commute into London.

We would really like to live in a fairly diverse area, with a good sense of community, most importantly with good primary schools (I am aware that most good schools are over subscribed) catchement.

We ideally want to be near local amenities, parks, a good evangelical church.
Although we do drive.

Would be great if you could take the time to recommend safe, friendly areas that meet most (I know I'm asking for a lot) of these requirements. Any bit of help / advice would be appreciated.

Could drive to Royston and catch train from there.

Believe primary school not oversubscribed, and also catchment for excellent secondary, Comberton Village College.
Easy access to Cambridge itself.

Romsey Town, St Philip's School or Ridgefield primary.

I'm wondering if there are things to do for families in the area, museums, parks, swimming pool, library etc?

Also are there any areas to avoid?

Thanks mastertomsmum! I've had a look a little look into Romsey looks like a great town. We may take a trip up there to have a look around. Ridgefield primary school looks good so far too thanks so much !!

In terms of churches I should have put more Charismatic than evangelical (and I have no idea how to amend my original message)

Cambridge itself is great for parks, museums, pool, libraries etc., and if you can find somewhere in Romsey then it will all be within walking/cycling distance. However prices are eye-watering. Botanic Gardens is also lovely with small children.

Cambourne has a library and a sports centre, diversity, and generally more going on than Hardwick, but so far no pool. Some people love it and some people hate it!

So, St Philip’s Church is very much a thriving fellowship. Services relay the words for songs and so on up on big screens.
