Decent Resteraunt - MY BIRTHDAY!

Its my birthday in August and DH wants to take me for a "slap up meal"

Thing is, we dont know where to go in Colchester as we usually eat out in Ipswich.

Anyone got any tips? Places to think about and places to avoid?!

We always enjoy a meal at Milsoms, in Dedham. Its quite reasonable and the decor is nce
In Colchester town, the Old Seige House is really nice. Last time we went it was italian and was lovely, but a bit expensive.

Hi me and my dh always enjoy the peldon rose, we recently went to the silk rd in town (queen st) really good thai food nd both reasonably priced. Have also been to old seige house when it was italian not sure wat its like now. Friends of ours always go to zizzi's never been myself but they rave how good food is and how reasonable to. Cant think of anywhere to avoid !

We went to Strada onNorth Hill (used to be the North Hill Exchange)and the food wasnt that fab. Waitress was lovely, but it was quite expensive for a ok meal!!

dh and I like The Lemon Tree in St Johns Street - they also do themed evenings (Jazz, fish nights etc). Reasonably priced and excellent food. Hope you have a great meal wherever you decide to go.
