Moving back to Birmingham with Year 5 daughter. Kings Norton Girls?

I have lived in London for 20+ years but we feel it's time to move back to Birmingham to be closer to family. My daughter is in Year 5 and is more on the creative/arty side. We will have a budget of approx £350k and have been thinking of Bournville as a possible area. My question is what is Kings Norton Girls like? My daughter wants to go to a girls secondary and doesn't want to try for the grammar school exams (which I respect). But I hope for a good state school that will give her similar opportunities in a nurturing environment. We would consider the independent schools but it looks like they are super selective and yet more testing!
Can anyone give an honest/objective view on Kings Norton Girls? What is the catchment area and what is the likelihood of realistically getting in? Which roads /areas should we look at to guarantee a place? Which primary school would be best for my daughter to complete Year 6? Is it easy enough to get a year 6 place even. If necessary she could go private for one year. Hate putting our eggs in one basket so if you know of other girls secondaries which are not hot houses please advise Smile Shock

Sorry you've waited so long.
what do you need for your money (number of bedrooms, and any other 'needs'), and I'll have a hunt for you (love a good property search, me) Grin
I've pm'd you re the school

Hi,

I'm looking for info about Kings Norton Girl's School.

Kings Norton Girls is one of the very few ofsted outstanding secondaries that’s non-selective in Birmingham. I don’t know much more about it than that but I know finding a decent non-selective secondary in Birmingham is bloody difficult.

I guess it’s almost selective anyway by having a largely nice area as it’s catchment
