Hello
Any Mumsnetters out there in Bracknell? I am mum to two boys ds1 (5) and ds2 (3). Lived here since 1992 (is it really that long?!). Hope to chat with people on here and will add some listings on places we like to go.
Cheers for now.
Smithy

I'm afraid that I can't be of much use to you, as I've only been in Berks for 1 month, with my 6 yr old daughter. However, I'll follow this thread to see what you recommend!
Best,
MCM

chopster · 13/07/2007 12:34

I'm jsut up the road in North Ascot. Have dd (7), ds1 (5) and dts (2).

MultiCulturalMother · 03/08/2007 11:22

Am also in North Ascot, and wondering about getting my daughter involved in local summer clubs such as those which offer ballet, sports, etc. Any comments/ recommendations?

nannynick · 26/08/2007 22:44

No info on summer clubs I'm afraid, but a 6 year old I babysit has been going to Pinewood Gymnastics Club in Wokingham and loves it. So if you are after a local (well, local ish) gymnastics club, that is one to try.

Hello everyone - I'm from Finchampstead. Have a 13 month old DS who just started nursery. Any good (or bad) feedback from Toad Hall Nursery? Just read the messages from the nursery section and feeling pretty down as there are loads of horror stories. We didn't have any probs so far although my DS is a happy boy and I'm scared that I won't notice if something is not ok...

nannynick · 06/11/2007 07:23

Toad Hall nursery (Edneys Hill) is independent, not part of Toad Hall Group (nearest nursery I think is Woking). I've been in the latter, but not the independent Toad Hall at Edneys Hill. My view is that nurseries vary a lot, independents tend to be better than group nurseries.
Best thing to do, is to pick up/drop off your DS at random times if at all possible - so that you are arriving unexpectedly.

PrettyCandles · 11/11/2007 07:45

St Crispins sports centre in Wokingham do some nice holiday clubs. You can book anything from a couple of sessions to whole weeks. Mostly sporting activities, of course, but there are also art sessions. My elder two have enjoyed them a lot.

gill64c · 24/11/2007 23:00

Message for Rica re. Toad Hall nursery: I have a very trustowrthy friend whose two children have both been at Toad Hall (Edney's Hill). The younger one is still there one or two days/week. I'm sure if anything wasn't right my friend would have changed nurseries. Good luck!

chezzie8 · 07/01/2008 12:12

Hi girls,

I'm Cheryl, and have been in Sandhurst now for 2 years, but never really got into any groups, and really missing company during the days, also friends for my daughter Ellie who is two in March, and another on the way!

Amanda, Camberley is just down the road from here, I know a few groups, plus the play areas are good, like Jakes? We go there every week or so.

Eleanorsmum, just up the road from you too. Would love to meet up.

Anyway, message back, or I'm chezzie8 @hotmail.com

Cheryl x

Hi...I have lived in Bracknell for almost 9 years and due my first DC in June. At the moment I'm looking into mother & baby groups or anything that will help me get out of the house once baby arrives...can't wait! Am also looking into childminders for when I go back to work in March '09 although that seems a long way off at the moment!

Toddler groups- THurs- harmans water church from about 9.30 i have met several good friends through this group, its not too religious at all just a couple of churchy songs. Forest park community centre holds a group 3 times a week I think mon/wed/fri but you would have to double check the days. Crown wood school hold a group on a wed morning. hope this helps x
