Westbury on trym - pros & cons

That really. We are scouting potential move-to areas for when DS is ready for school. Today we visited Westbury On Trym amongst others and liked the look of it. (We'd of course love to live nearer Clifton / Redland but budget wouldn't allow the same size property).

Is anyone able to tell me what it's like, especially with young kids? Is it safe? Friendly? Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks!

It's fine for young dcs.
The main con will be secondary education. Am not sure which secondary school would be the catchment one for this area. However there are plans for new schools in Bristol that may help.
Most of the families I know in the area either go for independent schools for secondary or non-catchment such as BCCS or faith schools for secondary. There is also the Bristol free school but don't really know what it's like.

It's a nice area but be careful actually buying in Westbury as areas which are basically Southmead are sometimes advertised as Westbury!

Lovely to be near Blaise Castle and there are good schools
