Chesterton preschool/primary schools?New to Cambridge

We will be moving to C in the New Year to the Chesterton area, with a 1 and 3 year old, the eldest starting school next Sept 19. Although in the Milton catchment we are interested in some of the other primary schools. Any recommendations please and also for any nurseries/preschools? Thank you.

If you are in the catchment area of MRPS, I wouldn't look at any other schools in Chesterton

SAHmum, ok. Is that because it's an excellent school, or everything else is oversubscribed? I was looking at schools outside of the Chesterton catchment.

Milton as in Milton village or Milton Rd school catchment? It’s my understanding that both are fine.

Chesterton based schools - The school that is now called Shirley was not doing so well when it was called St Andrew’s. That’s a few years back now and 2 neighbours of my parents have had kids go there and liked it well enough. The school now called Chesterton Primary which was Shirley Infants School is - I think - an academy (rare at the primary level in Cambridge) and is quite new. Not sure what it’s like.

I would guess that if the houses have been renovated they would be fine.
