Secondary schools, Waterbeach

Hi, we're moving to Waterbeach soon, and I'd be very grateful to hear about secondary schools nearby.

Is it possible to get to a secondary in Cambridge (like Parkside, which is on the trainline) and to commute? Or if it isn't, where do children from Waterbeach usually go for secondary, and is the commute possible by car only?

We'd like to keep going to a primary in Cambridge, just drive there every day. Has anyone done that before?

Parkside catchment is very small so unlikely to get in from Waterbeach I am afraid. I think most go to Bottisham.

Parkside is normally oversubscribed. The commuters are in the 6th form (including my DC1).

The A10 is a truly awful crawl in the mornings Sad. Are you really sure you want to be in that?

As others have said, you wouldn't get into Parkside.
The catchment school for Waterbeach is actually Cottenham Village College. There will be a school bus to transport the children.

Thank you all for insight! After researching a bit more about Cottenham Village College I do feel better, it seems like a good school. And a school bus is great.
