Hi. I'm new to mumsnet. I live in Chartham and have 2 boys (18 month & nearly 3). Does anyone know of any decent groups / clubs where we can go to use up some excess energy?!

Squiffy · 30/01/2008 16:08

have started a meet-up thread here in case you ladies are interested.

padboz · 06/02/2008 14:07

Hi Cazott! Mine are about the same age as yours (bit younger) found anything good to do with the boys, cos I'd be up for that? I am asuming you don't count yourself as having excess energy!? I'm nearly dead.

Cazott · 07/02/2008 22:39

Hi Padboz! Definitely talking about their excess energy not mine - I'm nearly dead too - do you remember the infamous lie in 'cos I don't?!! Have looked into tumble tots but can't take them both to the same class and can't find any that fit into any time I have alone with either of them. Just going to the usual Mother & toddler groups and Play Gym at Kingsmead but really keen to find something more structured and energetic (for them not me!)...Any ideas????

padboz · 07/02/2008 22:56

Cazott - ideas. Nope! We go to the pool at Kingsmead - didn't realise there was a play gym? what/ where is it?

Cazott · 11/02/2008 09:21

Hello, I am moving to Challock inbetween Ashford and Canterbury in January (eek) I have 2 girls aged 8 and 9. Does anyone live in this area?

Cinnamon220609 · 05/02/2010 12:45

Hi, I'm 20, a new mum and a student at university.. Anyone in a similar situation as me?

DesperateHousewife21 · 20/03/2010 09:46

cinnamon I will be 20 in a few weeks, im currently preg with my first baby, due in July. I live in Herne Bay, shameful to say Im a uni drop out .

Cinnamon220609 · 27/03/2010 09:13

That's nothing to be ashamed about! Do you know many people our age who is pregnant/has a baby? I don't know anyone!

DesperateHousewife21 · 27/03/2010 09:54

I know of a couple of people I went to school with but cant say Im really friends with them. I dont meet up with any if them, in fact only recently found out they have babies!

Not to say I wouldnt meet up with them if they wanted to, Id love to find more people my age who are preg/ have babies.

Do you live in Canterbury?

Cinnamon220609 · 29/03/2010 15:47

Yeah it's really difficult to find anyone who is the same age as me with a baby and on the same wavelength.

Also difficult as I'm at uni, and whilst everyone else is out at Baa bars I'm at home!

Yeah I live in the centre of Canterbury.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/03/2010 17:08

Aww your not missing much at baa bars! Ive only been there once for my 18th bday, was a bit rubbish I thought!

Which uni are you at? I was at christ church doing nursing before I dropped out.

Cinnamon220609 · 29/03/2010 18:53

I'm at CCCU too, in my final year. When did you drop out?

Yeah Baa Bars is a bit rubbish, it's more the principle of being able to go though.. lol.

DesperateHousewife21 · 29/03/2010 21:47

I dropped out in Jan 2009, Id only been there about 4 months.

What you studying there? How old is your son/daughter?

Cinnamon220609 · 30/03/2010 15:28

I'm studying English. My son is coming up to 4 months, time has gone so quickly!

Is there an easier way of chatting? I don't think I can message you :S

DesperateHousewife21 · 30/03/2010 15:36

Oh cool. No I dont think you can message on here privately. Do you have facebook you can add me on there if you like.

Cinnamon220609 · 30/03/2010 20:07

Hi am a young 40s about to be a new mum - living in Canterbury - anyone in same position who fancies meeting up/knows any Canterbury/nearby meetups?

Finishing work soon and apprehensive about the whole thing! Smile

Lizzy

DesperateHousewife21 · 15/09/2010 21:51

lizzy have you tried finding out where your local surestart centre is?
They run loads of groups which are free, great way to meet other mums.

jenjins · 19/09/2010 21:55

The Riverside Childrens Centre in Kingsmead Road has loads of groups and is the local sure start centre...
