Desiderata, just be a greedy cow, go on, you know you want to!

Desiderata · 13/06/2007 21:12

Whooopeeeee! Now the Armadillo's out of the equation, I shall email you forthwith!

Simsy · 13/06/2007 22:11

I have some spare zoo vouchers too and can highly recommend it.
Snuff Mills (just off the Frenchay road) is good and has a nice play park at the top of the hill in Fishponds.

wheresthevalium · 14/06/2007 11:57

Whatever you do, if you have under 5s, make sure you start at Snuff Mills, go up the hill to the park, then back down again!

Tried to do it the other way round (I live in Fishponds) and ended up carrying 2 DDs up the hill, with a combined weight of 40kgs I was not a happy bunny

Right then, Whos has a list ready for the school hols. We will go to the.....cinema.... the seafront in Clevedon every Tue 11-4. (free activities, entertainment, fun, just take a picnic, let the DC run and enjoy). and probably Ashton Court for a wood run/lets try to get lost/picnic..... maybe Hengrove park if the sun is splitting the pavements.

tortoiseSHELL · 13/07/2007 09:05

Things for the holidays -

Ashton Court/Blaise Castle/Leigh Woods. Some Sundays Ashton Court do the miniature railway where you can ride on the engines.

Harbour for the steam train when it's running.

SS Great Britain - great for slightly older kids.

Zoo (of course)

Horse World, on the Wells road.

City museum on Queens Road often have childrens' events. Likewise the Commonwealth museum by Temple Meads.

Ride the Severn Beach line!

Further afield - Slimbridge is always popular, Longleat, Cotswold Farm Park, Cotswold Wildlife Park, Tyntesfield, and other NT places.

lillypie · 13/07/2007 09:22
