I am a confident, dedicated and highly specialised Special Needs Teacher offering tutor sessions for children with additional needs and those that need extra support away from school, while I study for a Master's degree. I also write curriculums for home schools. Our first session will be free so you can decide whether your child and I are a perfect fit! I am based in North/East London but am willing to travel to most areas of London.

I have 15 years teaching experience, 13 of these being special needs.
I have worked with a range of special needs including cerebral palsy, children on the ASD spectrum, dyspraxia, dyslexia, and children with PMLD, SLD and MLD. I have experience with devising bespoke, holistic learner specific curriculums and write curriulums for home schools.

My sessions start always with the learner and I devise an individual program tailored to the child and his/her needs. I design programs that are accessible for verbal or non-verbal children, children with complex needs, AAC users, high tech eye gaze or low tech communication system users. I use Makaton and can program devises such as Proloquo2go and MyTobii.

I employ a range of teaching strategies including multi-sensory learning and practical based sessions in order to nurture confidence and foster independence.

I can liaise with Speech and Language, Occupational, Music and Physio therapists, visual impairment specialists, nurses and parents in order to inform teaching.

I form positive relationships with children and parents, engage children in their learning and together we achieve excellent results. I review progress with children and parents and give advice on practical strategies in order to support learners in the home.
I have original copies of 1) qualified teacher status and 2) DBS (formally known as CRB) documentation.

I am now taking bookings for September 2018 and onward. Contact me to discuss options including after school or day time hourly sessions, daily sessions, and intensive sessions over multiple hours. I also have availability over the October half term.
