Effingham junction/ Horsley station parking

Hi there,

My husband and I are thinking of moving from Wandsworth to East Horsley. We both still need to commute into London in the morning and the house we are looking at is about 20 mins walk to the station. We don’t have any little ones at the moment but we plan to in the near future- seems a bit ridiculous to think about this now but I think we would probably need to drive to a nursery to do the drop off and park at the station. Is there good parking available at Horsley station around 8.15 in the morning? Also are the nursery’s and primary schools well regarded in the area?

Hello! How funny I completely forgot I wrote this post. We actually ended up in oxshott, a couple stations up the line. I’m told parking isn’t a problem at Horsley (we have friends there now) and it certainly isn’t at oxshott. Commute wise pre COVID there was a fast train at rush hour, not sure if they are bringing it back now but generally was an ok journey. They do tend to cancel later stations to make up the time if they are running late (Horsley usually ok but cobham - Hinchley wood cancelled!!) and only 2 trains an hour so you do have to be prepared for that. Otherwise we love it here and hopefully will move more Horsley was for more space in a few years. Good luck with your search and move! X
