Newnham Croft Primary Y5/Y2 questions

Two questions for anyone able to answer this:

1. On the website it appears there is one Y5 class. Is it taught as one class or as two separate classes? If as two separate classes, how many are in each class?

2. On the website it looks like there are two Y1/2 classrooms? Do you have a sense as to how big they are?

Hi Winnipeg,

Newnham Croft takes in a single class per year. However, they run four classes over KS1, i.e. 1 Reception, a mixed Reception/ Year 1 class and 2 mixed Year 1/2 classes. This allows them to mix children up according to ability/ maturity. It also gives some flexibility to accommodate the high attrition/ new joiner rate as catchment covers accommodation for visiting academics.
From Y3, classes are in their proper year groups with 1 class per year. There is a waiting list but pressure has eased somewhat with the development of West Cambridge and Trumpington sites.
