Relocating to Marston, Oxford

Hi, we are hoping to relocate to Marston, Oxford later this year. Can anyone give me advice on the nicer parts to live in? We have around £450k to spend on a house. We will require a primary school for our two children, which I'm hoping will also be in Marston if they have spaces.

Thanks for your advice.

For primary schools St Nicholas is considered much better than New Marston Primary, but for that reason oversubscribed and you need to be in catchment and close to the school. Haven’t heard great things about New Marston school unfortunately, though this is all third hand knowledge. Don’t know much about St Michael’s but believe it’s fine, so basically you may have an issue if you are uncomfortable with a CofE school. Marston is currently in a bit of a crisis for secondary schools with kids unable to get into Cherwell and so allocated places at schools miles away, so worth bearing in mind for the future, though there is theoretically a new school planned. In terms of areas, Old Marston is lovely and villagey but very expensive. Other parts of it - depends what your priorities are (ie closer to shops/ close to nice meadow entrance to parks / close to town). Is there a particular reason you need to be in Marston?
