Relocation to Dundee

Hello, we are going to relocate to Dundee in the summer and I was wondering what opinions are about some rural places nearby. We will have to travel to Dundee for work but would prefer to live in a smaller place. Thanks in advance.

Broughty Ferry is lovely, as is Newport. There are more rural places further out but I don't know them well enough as we are newish here too. Sorry!

Forfar's fab! This will out me for real, but never mind...

We've done five years here after coming up from Tayport (both Dundonians) and the difference is unbelievable. Folk in Forfar super friendly, plenty of supermarkets, independent shops, really close to the countryside, beaches etc, well served with buses if you need them, reasonable property prices and a buoyant market, beautiful new community campus with lovely gym and swimming pools and I've found an amazing mother and toddler group. We've been so happy here. Can't recommend highly enough!
