Mill Road cafe/pub/bar recommendations

Hi, we’ve recently moved to Cambridge and plan to explore the Mill Road area over the next few weekends. Do anyone have any recommendations for cafes, bars or shops etc we should visit? I’ve heard Hot Numbers is nice so we’ll try there first! Thanks

Relevant Records - cafe with proper record shop in the basement. Gigs there too... it's teeny!

192 is a good cocktail bar, but does get a bit crowded!

Generally Cambridge is better for pubs than bars. With a few exceptions, the bars tend to be indifferent chains. For pubs off Mill Rd, the Cambridge Blue has the best selection of bottled beer in the city. Also a large number of cask and keg lines. Food is only okay.

The Live and Let Live is the best pub for quality of beer, but if you don't like cask conditioned ale its charms may be lost on you. Doesn't do food, very old-man pub. Does have large rum selection.

Limencello is an award-winning delicatessen, and also does good coffee and sandwiches.

Bacchanalia is a good beer and wine shop, though I'd say the Mill Rd branch skews towards being better for beer.

Al Amin is the biggest of the international grocers, for specialist cooking ingredients.

Romsey Town voted 14 hippest neighbourhood in the UK. It’s mostly delis good shops and a bit like a London Islington feel only way smaller and with folk who have lived here forever.

Cafe’s abound in Romsey Town - Black Cat, Urban Larder, Limoncello, Cornerstone St Philip’s Church cafe. Various pubs inc Royal Standard. Amazing fish and chips st Seatree and a lovely local Italian, Tradizione.

Petersfield side of the bridge is also ok but much more urban and less chilled. They have better schools, some might say, I stress some.
