Relocation from germany to Cambridgeshire

Hi Cambridgeshire locals, my husband was just offered a job in Milton, Cambridge. I don’t know the area whatsoever! Can anyone give advice on where to try to live - great secondary and primary schools are the main priority, followed by what we can afford with about 425k. Min 3 beds, preferably 4. Villages small and towns could be good for us if not too remote. We are British but have been in Germany for the last 6 years. We want to settle down now and be middle aged rather that on a European adventure!!! Thanks for your thoughts!

*That should read “villages and small towns” are good for us.

Traffic is awful but Milton is a great area for the north side of Cambridge. Transport links are excellent as you're right on the [dreadfully congested] A14, the guided bus, park & ride, plus North Cambridge railway station.

Milton primary is well organised and welcoming if you want to stay local. Or you could look at living in Ely and a rail commute? Don't drive because the A10 is even worse than the A14 in the mornings!
