Baby/Toddler Groups Recommendations

I have a friend who has just moved to Ealing from overseas with a 6 month old. Her husband has lived in London for many years. They met overseas so she knows no-one here. I offered to help her out by taking her to some groups to meet some new people and try and help her settle.

I haven't lived in Ealing for many years and am therefore unfamiliar with what is currently available. It would be useful if someone could recommend groups that they have personally experienced, like and find friendly and welcoming.

I've sent her a list of links to look at but would appreciate some first hand experience.www.mumsnet.com/mnlocal/new-local-feedback

Depends where in Ealing she is moving to. She should join the local facebook groups- Northfields friends, Pitshanger area friends etc and definitely join Ealing 135- £15 to join for the year but I think you can join the facebook group for free. If you pay the fee they send you a booklet with details on all the local baby /toddler groups and classes in the area. If she has a baby one of the drop in baby classes at the YMCA on St Mary's road might be a good place to start. You can also park there for free . Ealing is great for families she'll love it once she's settled.

I've taken her to the Kingsdown baby and toddler group which she quite enjoyed. She's from Eastern Europe and had never heard of such a thing. Apparently where she's from they don't exist. I'll let her know about the YMCA as that might be closer to her. She's lives a 2 minute walk from St Mary's so not a long walk.
