Which Hospital, Whittington or UCH

So I had baby no1 at The Whittington Hospital in Archway, was not happy with there triage or some of the nurses! After care was horrendous they sent me home with a opened wound, then I got an infection & was back in for 5days with lo! Although this was 3yrs ago.

Hubby is saying he's heard lots of good things about the UCH, he works in a childrenswear department so speaks to a lot of expectant parents locally.

Recommendations please? negatives out of the two?

You sound like my husband, he just doesn't like the Whittington either. But how did you do for getting to appointments etc at the UCH? Parking?

UCHL all the way. My birthing experience was amazing there. I was too late for epidural so asked for water birth- I got room with a pool which was amazing, I felt like I was in a private hospital. Midwifes were great as well, I had 2 present at birth, one of them was student nurse which was fine. Maybe that could be a negative for some, as UCHL is university hospital so it is frequent that students are present. There is no parking around hospital, I was taking the bus, which stops in front of the hospital, so not much to walk. I can not speak highly enough of UCHL, every department we visited was excellent. Recently I had appendicitis and ended up having emergency surgery- 2 different GPs were convincing me it was "just a virus" but I went to A&E at UCHL, and their great doctors immediately diagnosed me properly and rushed me into theatre. I fully trust UCHL as it has great specialists, professional, kind staff and great modern wards.

I agree, UCLH were brilliant when I had my 2nd DS there. Couldn’t fault them.
