DS will be starting at Rutlish in September. As background, he passed both tests for Sutton grammar school but did not get a place ( he’s on the waiting list, but a realistic chance seems remote). Once past the disappointment, I’m trying o make the best of things and I’ve just noticed Rutlish claim to have a G and T scheme. Just wondering how that works. Are kids naturally channelled into particular ( more challenging) classes if they have strong ability? Do parents need to get involved and request their child is given the extra push and opportunities in a particular subject? I’m aware Rutlish is a very large school and TBH I’m worried DSs abilities could go unrecognised/ understretched. Thank you.
