Kingswood retail park - urgent help needed!

Hi,

long time poster that has name chnged because I have moaned to so many of my personal friends about this that it will out me!

On Saturday 10 th March, I was stuck in the awful traffic in kingswood car park.

I have now been givrn a parking fine for staying too long! I spent an hour and a half in a line of cars trying to get out of the car park, which meant that I stayed too long.

I have appealed but the parking company have refused my appeal.

I need help, Mumsnet! I need to hear from you if you have any evidence of the gridlock on the date please.

Do you have an Android phone with location switched on? You can view that day's 'timeline' on Google Maps and then view the raw data blobs - which have date and time stamps. It could show that you were on an exit road rather than parked during that time, depends on the accuracy level. (I suspect iPhones have a similar capability.)

However, I suspect that the parking company will continue to pursue this regardless, they did near me even though the car-park snarl-up made the local news!

There are full instructions on what to do but you can pay them to do it for you. I have no affiliation with them. Money saving expert forums has lots of info available too.

The private companies are not properly regulated and they are usually money making scammers. They often don’t follow their own guidelines.

Thanks for the replies. looked money saving expert. Emailing the CEOs of a few shops on kingswood now to see if they will overturn it. I'll update if I hear anything.
