Hello, we’re moving from the north and looking at a few different areas in and around London. We have two children in years 2 and 4. We like Barnes but schools are hard to get into. Except Lowther. Admissions have told there are spaces available now. I’ve been to the school and liked some aspects but had mixed feelings. If you have children there, please could you let me know how they are doing academically. I can see that the children are happy and it looks like a fun, caring school which is of course hugely important but is the academic side good too?

This might be a bit late for you but Lowther is a lovely school. I have two boys here (reception and yr2) - they have had a brilliant experience and are both doing well academically. The school has a fantastic family ethos and a real 'all-round' focus - from my experience, teachers are good at working across abilities and more able children will be encouraged with additional 'challenges'. They make a real effort to make learning fun but that doesn't mean the children don't make great progress. Highly recommended!
