Horse riding?

My daughter (12) has said she would like to go horse riding over half term. Her (and my) only experience is a couple of pony treks on holiday so she's imagining something similarly relaxed rather than a full-on lesson. I know there are stables around the royal parks but they look quite 'serious'. Any recommendations? I'd happily drive up to an hour if there's nothing local that fits the bill.

Park Lane Stables in Teddington is very friendly and they also do some lessons at the Oak Avenue Stables in Hampton. If she hasn't ridden much most of the local stables would want her to have a few lessons before she is able to ride out in the park, but Park Lane do seem to lead beginners. Park Lane also has the ponyclub if she gets keen.
