Good afternoon,

Hoping to get some local insight.......

I work in Rothwell, Leeds and my family and friends are all in Doncaster, i'm looking to purchase somewhere in the middle so really would like some information on local places, such as...

Pontefract - WF7/WF8
Castleford - WF10
Knottingley - WF11
Featherstone - WF7
Fitzwilliam - WF7
Normanton - WF6
Ackworth - WF9
Kinsley - WF9
Streethouse - WF6

What are the local areas like and is there any particular area/street i should stay away from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi love, I lived in normanton all my life til 2 years ago when I moved to Crofton! I think it’s gone abit rough in parts and wouldn’t move back there now!
We love Crofton and Walton is nice, don’t know about sharlston and streethouse, always seems quiet when I drive through! Ackworth is meant to be nice aswell. X

Ackton is OK, especially Old Ackton, heading out towards Pontefract. In fact around there to Wentbridge is lovely. Wentbridge is very much a “if money were no object” type of village though!
Walton/Crofton/Nostell area is nice
Most of the rest on you list, less so. I wouldn’t particularly want to live in Fitzwilliam/Kinsley way. Run down and a reputation for roughness.
Lots of flood risk in the areas you mention.
Purston Jaglin?
Rothwell to Donny is not really that far to commute the whole way.

There's good and bad places to live in all the areas you've mentioned and house prices vary. If you can give a little more information on budget and house wanted, I could recommend a bit better for you :)
