hello. I am moving to Hull soon. I am a single mum of a seven year old boy. I am wondering what are the good areas where I should be looking at to rent a place? I will be working as a junior doctor in Castle Hill Hospital. Could you please recommend a good primary school around that area? We are dark skinned so I’m also afraid of my son being bullied. He’s a fragile little thing. We have been through an ugly divorce/ domestic violence so I want to make this as easy for him as possible. He will probably be moving with me in a couple of months till I sort out his school/ housing details.

Just seen no-one replied.Sorry we are a friendly bunch in this area. Castle Hill is in Cottingham which is a very large village. It has 3 or 4 primary schools of which only Westfield gets good reports.

The more multi-cultural schools are in Hull. thoresbyprimaryschool.co.uk/hull/primary/thoresby/site/pages/clubs/extracurricularactivities does very well and is near the university area so lots of rental property around. Even closer to the university is saintnicholasprimary.org.uk/ which also has a number of children where English is not their first language. (No assumption you are not British but in Hull most British born are white.) The university is probably 3 miles from Castle Hill.
