Foreign language at All Saints?

SRose · 13/12/2017 16:51

Hello everyone.
We are moving to Colliers Wood with our 4 year old daughter this month.
Having contacted all primary schools in our short list, it seems All Saints is the only option for her to start her reception from January.

I've been reading their website but I can't find any information about a foreign language subject...I thought it's compulsory to teach one from Y3???

Does anyone know if they teach any?

Thank you very much!!

Rosie

Hi SRose

Just asked the question of All Saints CofE Primary School Office - their business manager (Magny Kastet) very helpfully got back to me and informs me that the pupils learn Spanish in KS2 (Yr 3 onwards).

Hope that helps and that your DD enjoys her time at All Saints.

Thanks Kate!
We are moving from France hoping my daughter can continue to learn French...but better than nothing!

Does your little one(s) attend All Saints as well?
I haven't thought about All Saints before, so I've got little knowledge about them.
Looks like the class size is a bit smaller than other schools in Merton, which I really like:)

Thanks again!

Rosie

Hi Rosie

No I don't have little ones there - mine are older now Wink. However, it has a good reputation locally, particularly for pastoral care. Think smaller class sizes (hard to come by in the state sector in London!) can only be beneficial to the pupils, so that is a big plus.

There are also lots of local 'out of school' options for children to learn languages, if you'd like your DD to continue with French. Mosaic Languages for one, run by two local women including Corinne who is herself French (and a mum!).

Good luck and welcome to Merton.

Hi Kate,

Thank you for all the information!
Glad to know All Saints has good reputations( I was obsessed with St Mary's before, but now I feel more positive about All Saints!).

I appreciate the link to the language course. I will definitely contact them!

Thank you & probably see you around soon!!

Rosie
