South Morningside Family home rental

Hello, we are relocating to Edinburgh in the next month and desperately looking for a nice family home to rent in the morningside/marchmont/merchiston areas. We will be renting until we can find somewhere to buy so this could be anything from 6 months to a year or even more if we are unsuccessful in finding somewhere promptly. We need to find a property ASAP in order to secure a school place but with Christmas so close there is nothing on the market. If anyone knows of a property coming on in the next few weeks please let us know. Thank you

How many bedrooms do you need?

Couple of two bed rentals on ESPC, one Newington, available now, one Braid Crescent doesn't say if it's available now. There are others but these are the ones I'd go for. I reckon the one in Craighouse Gardens is in catchment for S Morningside but it's not available until Feb.

Are hearts set on S. Morningside? The catchment is not known for its rental market at the best of times. I'm terribly biased but Tollcross Primary is a cracking school and might well be able to fit your children even if you're out of catchment, depending what year they're in. It's great for bus routes so you have more choice of area to live.

Try citylets as well. Have notifications switched on for your criteria for all the rental sites. They often go really fast. Are you in a position to view? They won’t give you a lease unless you view. Agree about Tollcross. It’s a nice school.

Don't know about rentals but South Morningside is fab! It's ludicrously expensive to live here as you will have noted from house prices but it's the best bit of Edinburgh (biased, subjective) and the school really is the biz.
