Reading and Phonics Workshops

Are you baffled by phonics? Do you sometimes feel that you are not supporting your child's reading effectively?

Would anyone out there be interested in attending reading and phonic workshops for small groups of parents, run by an experienced primary school teacher?

The idea is to enable parents to support their child at home by understanding the methods, strategies and resources that teachers use in the classroom today in a relaxed, open and friendly atmosphere.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in, it would be great if you could contribute any ideas, experiences, questions or challenges you may face as a parent. I would be happy to offer support and advice via this forum, or through a small group workshop.

Yes I would be keen. I had taken a look for something in the area but couldn’t find anything. I learnt to read by repetition so learning the basics of phonics would be great.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for your interest. It would be great if you knew anyone who may be interested too. A group of 8-10 parents would provide just the right number of people to allow the workshop to be successful, share ideas, and discuss with other parents.
Could I ask which elements of reading or phonics you find particularly challenging? And how do you think I could support you the most with helping your child?

Thanks again, Carl
