Hi,
Any recommendations for baby childcare in Wimbledon or surrounding areas. Either childminder or day nursery. Also looking at Esher but seems to be less choice and I've left it a bit late.
Thanks!

I am also very interested in this. Wimbledon/Raynes Park/Kingston area and so far have only come across extremely overpriced Bright Horizons that have places left.

Sale. Not keen on big chains. Private, family like settling obviously ideal 🤞🏻

This is the reason we've decided to go for a childminder in the end. It's so much less stress to find since there seems to be a surplus in the area, they are capped at 6 kids and it gives them that homely feel. It also gives DD a chance to meet other kids and socialise with other children not necessarily in her age group. I think it's a shame that she'll build these relationships and then everyone will be off to a different primary school, whereas I think in a nursery there is more likely that continuity of friendship groups from nursery to primary.

I literally registered with childcare.co.uk this morning and already have an inbox full of nannies/childminders in the area.

Wimbledon day nursery is a lovely one. Privately run and the owners child goes there too.

Out childminder is amazing, her name is Ros Pattwell and I found her on childcare.co.uk

I cannot recommend her highly enough. My son settled in immediately and aleays has such s good time with her. She sends me pictures DVD videos throughout the day too which is lovely when I'm at work. If you can get in with her she is well worth the money!

Thank you! She sounds great. Do you have her phone number? Can’t find her online.
Thanks!

Can anyone share their views on the Orchard Day Nursery in Wimbledon? It looks very nice and first impressions are good on visiting but would like to hear others opinions and experiences. Thanks in advance

I’ve heard that they use a lot of agency staff, but I’m not sure if that’s right?

Thanks for the info. We are having settle in sessions at a the moment, the key worker is lovely. Getting through to them on the phone is a nightmare though, hopefully it’s not so bad when we start. I don’t know if I could cope with not being able to get through when my little one is there

Communication is so important! Good that the keyworker is nice though 👍 maybe worth talking to the manager re: phones?
